Double Clutch Menu for the Pirates Series – Polish Hill Pierogies

Nothing says Pittsburgh more than Pierogies!  Pierogies are very popular in Pittsburgh and if you don’t know what they are, read on and you might be intrigued to try one this weekend at Miller Park.

Pierogies are dumplings made of unleavened dough, first boiled, then baked or fried usually in butter with onions – traditionally stuffed with potato filling, sauerkraut, ground meat, cheese, or fruit, typically semicircular in shape.

And, like our very own World Famous Klement’s Racing Sausages, the Pirates Pierogies are an important part of in-game entertainment for all Pirates games at PNC Park. Following the end of the 5th inning, the Pierogies take the field to run the 280-yard Pierogi Race. There are four different pierogies in the race: Sauerkraut Saul, Cheese Chester, Jalapeno Hannah and Oliver Onion.

The Pierogies also make various appearances in the community, ranging from parades to private functions and non-profit events.

The Double Clutch will serve Polish Hill Pierogies this weekend at Miller Park. For $9.00 you can enjoy a plate of three butter-seared pierogies with caramelized onions and smoked kielbasa on the side.  It is also served with a piece of bread.

The Double Clutch is located outside section 215 on the Loge Level and the Polish Hill Pieogies will be available all weekend.

Double Clutch Menu for the Dodgers Series – Shrimp Baja Burrito

The Brewers are back at Miller Park after a ten-game roadtrip and that means a new item at the Double Clutch Food Truck – Shrimp Baja Burrito.  If the dollar hot dogs at Miller Park this week for Spring Madness are not your style, you won’t want to miss this special item.

Inspired by Southern California food trucks, the made-to-order burrito comes filled with fresh Cajun-seasoned shrimp, avocado,  bacon, basil aioli and slaw.  It’s a pretty hefty serving and don’t forget a fork and knife to make sure you get every last bite!  A side of Miller Park’s famous homemade chips is on the side.

The Shrimp Baja Burrito is $9 and will be served at the Double Clutch stand for the three-game series this week with the Dodgers.

A staple of the Double Clutch, the Spaghetti-in-a-Meatball is also available again and features a 1/2 pound beef and veal meatball stuffed with spaghetti and mozzarella cheese and topped with marinara sauce.  That is also $9.

The Double Clutch stand is on the Loge Level outside section 215 (on the first base side of the press box).

  • Cait recently reviewed Haudricourt’s new Brewers book, but what was the book she reviewed last year?
  • We ran in the Brewers Mini last year and tracked our progress on the blog. What was John’s finishing time?

UPDATE:Looks like we already have our winner, wow that was fast! Congrats, Brad. Thanks again to everyone for reading!

Good luck!

Thanks again for reading, it has truly been a pleasure to be able to engage with all of you and we can’t wait to see some of you on Social Media Night, coming up on May 28. Double Clutch Menu for the Cardinals Series – Beef Barbacoa Tacos

A four-game weekend series with the St. Louis Cardinals begins tonight at Miller Park.  With that, we have a new food item at the Double Clutch stand on the Loge Level at Miller Park.

On the menu for the Cardinals series: Beef Barbacoa Tacos.  Two soft shell tacos featuring slow braised beef chuck roast, smoked here at Miller Park.  Topped with a green chipotle aioli and onions and served with cilantro rice and pickled veggies.  The aioli is delicious and the beef is fresh and very tasty.  The tacos can be a bit messy, so don’t forget a fork.  This meal is $10.

The Spaghetti-in-a-Meatball is also again available featuring a 1/2 pound beef and veal meatball stuffed with spaghetti and mozzarella cheese and topped with marinara sauce.  This is a favorite of mine and is $9.

The Double Clutch stand is on the Loge Level outside section 215 (on the first base side of the press box).
