The Milwaukee Brewers been nominated for the Premium Seat Award in The 2015 StadiumBusiness Awards 2015 for the Timeless Ticket.
If you’ll recall, the limited edition Timeless Ticket consists of a brass ticket personalized with an engraving of the owner’s name. Today was photo day at Maryvale Baseball Park!
The day starts out earlier than normal as various photographers come in to shoot headshots and posed shots of the players.
Photos were taken by media outlets like the Associated Press, Getty Images and USA Today along with the Brewers team photographer Scott Paulus, our scoreboard folks, MLB Network and Topps baseball cards. Players rotate through the various stations:
In addition, we had fun using the Twitter Mirror, a special Twitter app used by events like the Oscars and the GRAMMYs, which transforms an ordinary tablet into a special selfie station.
We overheard players say “Yes, selfie station!” and “I’m coming back here later,” so we think they had fun… but of course, we’ve also got pictures to prove it:

So today started off like any other Friday… but it’s not every day you come across a mascot Twitter feud that results in a friendly wager on this Sunday’s Packers vs. Seahawks game.
Take a look at this conversation between our own Bernie Brewer (the most followed MLB Mascot on Twitter, thank you very much) and Mariner Moose.

Nearly 50 Milwaukee Brewers players plus a host of alumni, coaches, front office executives and broadcasters are scheduled to participate in Brewers On Deck, which is set to take place on Sunday, January 25 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Wisconsin Center.
Advance tickets are $15 for adults and $9 for children 14 and under. Tickets on the day of the event are $20 for adults and $15 for children 14 and under. A portion of the proceeds from Brewers On Deck will benefit Brewers Community Foundation. Tickets may be purchased at the Miller Park ticket office, by calling the Brewers ticket office at 414-902-4000, or online at brewers.com/ondeck.
This year the event will feature a community book drive that will help support Next Door’s Books for Kids program. The goal of the Books for Kids campaign is to help all children in Milwaukee’s central city, regardless of their family income or education levels, have books they can call their own. Local author Marla McKenna will help host the event. Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently used children’s books to donate. In appreciation for their contribution, fans who donate a book will receive a free copy of McKenna’s newest publication, “Mom’s Big Catch,” a story based upon events that took place at Miller Park.
Once again food donations will be accepted through Hunger Task Force. Donations can be dropped off at two main entrances to the Wisconsin Center, located at 4th Street and Wisconsin Avenue, and 4th Street and Wells Street.

Brewers On Deck will feature a number of activities for the entire family. Autographs and photos from Brewers players, coaches and alumni; interactive games in the Kids Area; Q&A sessions and game shows with Brewers players, coaches and broadcasters; vendor booths with baseball memorabilia; Brewers Community Foundation’s Treasure Hunt, a 50/50 raffle, live auction and many other activities will all be a part of Brewers On Deck.
Details regarding autographs include the following: Recipients of “PREMIER” autographs (players to be announced next week) will be chosen through a random selection process. Each fan in attendance will receive one Premier Entry sheet which may be redeemed at the Random Selection area outside the Main Exhibit Hall of the Wisconsin Center District. The Premier Entry sheet will be exchanged for a numbered coupon to be entered into the random selection process for any one of the select Brewers players. Coupon distribution will be available at 8 a.m. the day of the event and will continue up to an hour before each designated autograph session. There is no cost for coupons to enter the random selection process; however, those holding winning coupons must pay $10 at the respective autograph stage to collect their player signature. There will be 250 winners for each of the autograph sessions. The winning ticket numbers will be posted at the designated autograph stage no less than 30 minutes prior to each player’s session.
Players and staff not included in the PREMIER autograph list will not use the random selection process. Each of these players will sign 250 autographs at prices ranging from free to $10. A schedule of players, their session times, and distribution info will be posted next week. The autograph opportunities are for signatures on photo cards provided by the team; the Brewers cannot guarantee that any player will sign other memorabilia. BREWERS ANNOUNCE FOUR-YEAR PLAYER DEVELOPMENT CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH CLASS-A WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS
The Milwaukee Brewers have announced a four-year player development contract extension with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers of the Midwest League through the 2020 season. The announcement was made jointly by Brewers President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Doug Melvin and Timber Rattlers President Rob Zerjav.
“We thoroughly enjoy the professional working relationship that President Rob Zerjav and the Timber Rattlers provide to the Milwaukee Brewers,” said Melvin. “This long-term relationship continues to show the trust and confidence that we have in working together as we continue to develop future Major League players.”
The 2015 season will mark the seventh season of affiliation between the Brewers and Timber Rattlers. The partnership officially began on October 1, 2008 as part of a four-year agreement. The organizations announced a four-year extension through the 2016 season on June 29, 2011.
This past season, the Timber Rattlers went 72-67 during the regular season and qualified for the postseason after clinching a second-half Wild Card berth in the Midwest League’s Western Division. It marked Wisconsin’s second postseason appearance over the past three seasons (also 2012 when they won the Midwest League championship).
“Our relationship with the entire Brewers organization has been a special one for the Timber Rattlers, for the local business community in the Fox Valley and, most importantly, for our fans,” said Zerjav. “The Brewers provided us the team that brought home the first Midwest League championship in Timber Rattlers history and it has been great to see the success of former Rattlers now making an impact at the big league level in Milwaukee. We look forward to many more years of this great partnership both on and off the field.”
The Timber Rattlers play their home games at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Today, we came across this tweet from the NFL and two things stood out to us.
One, we couldn’t help but notice the Brewers cap sported by Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Devon Still.
But much more than that, two, we’ve been touched by the story of his 4-year-old daughter Leah, and her battle with pediatric cancer.
This week on Thursday Night Football, the Bengals will take on the Cleveland Browns and Leah will be in attendance to see her dad play for the first time, as she has been recovering from surgeries.
During a break in the game, the Bengals will make a $1.25 million dollar donation to Cincinnati Childrens’ Hospital for pediatric cancer research. The donation encompasses proceeds from the sale of Still’s jersey and Leah is expected to be part of the ceremony.
Leah, we admire your bravery and love your attitude. We also love your dad’s cap. The Brewers are donating $1000 to the fight against pediatric cancer and we’re encouraging our fans to do the same.

Here’s a wrap-up and thank you from Tim Rappé, Executive Director of the Brewers Baseball Academy presented by Kwik Trip, eight separate week-long baseball/softball camps open to youth (ages 6-14) that were held in various cities across Wisconsin this summer.
SAYING GOODBYE TO 2014
As I’ve now officially awoken from my summer camp “coma” it’s time to say thanks to some very special people for making the Brewers Baseball Academy camp’s second season even better than the first…no small feat since 2013 was really great.
Every camp sold out. As much as we hate turning kids away, our commitment is to run a very high quality camp experience every day for every child. And that means that we will continue to limit the number participants. Over 1,000 kids spent part of their summer with us having a blast, learning to play baseball the Brewers way. You might want to keep an eye on the website in December when we go “live” with the 2015 schedule.
In 2014, we made our first trip to Fond du Lac and moved our Madison-area camp to Waunakee. We ran our first camps in Wauwatosa and Greendale. The story was the same; folks all over Wisconsin love the Brewers and we did our best to give them a heaping dose of Brewers baseball and softball training.
The secret to our success is really no secret. We bring good instructors to camp and work our fannies off to deliver an excellent product every day. Leading that core of instructors were Scott Staude and Greg Fetherston with some very special smart baseball from Brian Gillogly, Ronnie Nedset and Dan O’Brien. Thanks, guys.
A big hug to coaches Ed Sedar, Rick Kranitz and John Shelby for continuing to bring their amazing knowledge and huge personalities to camp every week. And of course a big tip of the cap to Mike Fiers, Jimmy Nelson, Khris Davis and Elian Herrera …you guys gave up free time to make the camp week even better for all the kids and coaches.
We concluded the camp season with another great Champions Day at Miller Park. This is where the kids who recorded the top scores in our Skills Competition during the summer squared off for the final time. You can see the winner’s picture and all the final scores here.
All in all, a real good summer. Like you, we live and die with the Big Boys and despite the rough last few weeks, they gave us plenty of reason to be proud of 2014 and excited about 2015. Expect camp dates to be locked down some time in December.

The Cubs are making the trip north on I-94 for Fan Appreciation Weekend at Miller Park. Chicago is known for many specialty food items and the Double Clutch this weekend will not disappoint as it combines two popular Chicago foods in one special meal.
The featured menu item this weekend is the Taylor Street Fried Italian Sausage Sandwich, with tomato jam and fresh mozzarella. This meal is $10.
As always, the Spaghetti-in-a-Meatball is also available all weekend at the Double Clutch also for $9.50.
The Double Clutch is located on the Loge Level outside section 215.
