Well, we are up bright and early because it is quite the eventful morning here at Miller Park!
If you haven’t heard by now, the second Klement’s Famous Racing Sausage, Polish, went missing last Wednesday, which first became apparent when he didn’t show up for the Sausage Race during the game.
ITALIAN! Great race tonight to end the homestand, but

Well, this morning, we finally found out what he was up to! In preparation for Spring Madness, Polish had been hard at work. Not only had he gone missing from Miller Park, but, similar to Bernie’s effort in 2011, and Chorizo’s last year, Polish spent the hours mapping and planting over 2,000 Polish lawn ornaments in the grass areas surrounding Miller Park and its parking lots.
Beginning NOW (5 a.m. on Monday, May 13), fans may come to Miller Park to pick up their very own Polish Racing Sausage lawn ornament. If you find one, it’s yours to keep, but there is a limit of just one ornament per person.
Each lawn ornament is affixed with a pouch that includes game tickets for a Spring Madness game, set for May 20 through May 22 at Miller Park. The Brewers will host the Los Angeles Dodgers during Spring Madness, and fans can save 50% on most tickets $34 or less. In addition, Klement’s hot dogs and small Pepsi products are just $1 each for all three games.
This scavenger hunt will continue until all ornaments have been claimed; the allotment is expected to be claimed quickly, so what are you waiting for? Come and try to get yours! [Please note: Parking is only available in the Molitor Lot, which is directly north of I-94. Fans should enter the Molitor Lot from Blue Mound Road and walk down Yount Drive to participate in the hunt. For official rules, click here.]
Did you find Polish? Upload a photo to Twitter and/or Instagram using the hashtag #WHERESPOLISH and we might include yours in a recap gallery later today!
6:30am Update: All of the Polish ornaments are gone at Miller Park. Thanks to everyone who came out! We hope you had fun out there… And of course, we hope to see you back out at Miller Park for Spring Madness, May 20-22!
-John & Cait
[Note: If you aren’t able to make it down to Miller Park this morning, or if you missed out on the lawn ornaments, don’t fret! We are told the Brewers Team Store by Majestic will have a limited quantity in stock. We suggest you call the store at (414) 902-4750 to check availability first.]
We’re just four days away from Opening Day and it seems like Brewers Fever is sweeping over the state!
Check out this very creative Pepsi display at the Pick ‘n Save on 76th and Coldspring! Looks like Bernie Brewer and the Klement’s Famous Racing Sausages are ready for Opening Day and are hydrated with Pepsi products!
If you’re out and about, make sure you keep your eyes open for these types of “pop” art displays from the merchandisers! Here are a few we captured last summer as well! We love it!

“What’s Good?” asks the Brewers Community Foundation.
Rickie Weeks helps kids smile brighter by supporting “Team Smile.” Yovani Gallardo supports youth baseball programs in Milwaukee like the Felix Mantilla Little League and the RBI Program. Ryan Braun supports Habitat for Humanity.
While that is just a small slice of what Brewers players do for the community, there is plenty of good in our Milwaukee community. The Brewers and the Brewers Community Foundation are able to shed light on “What’s Good?” in the Milwaukee community and draw attention to those bright spots. BCF week highlights those activities through a series of raffles, auctions and other activities that put “What’s Good” in the spotlight. BCF’s focused areas of interest are related to the causes that highlight the Foundation’s charitable impact in the community.
Perhaps the highlight of BCF Week is the “Ultimate Auction” which is now live on Brewers.com now and will close Tuesday night. There are some amazing prizes and experiences available to fans through this auction. Photo opportunities with players, private hitting and pitching clinics with coaches, pre-game dinner with Brewers TV announcers Brian Anderson and Bill Schroeder. But, perhaps one of the most unique prizes has to be a “Meet & Greet” with Nyjer Morgan who will also record your personal cell phone greeting!
Check in with the auction throughout the week. All the auctions close at 11:59 p.m. CT on Tuesday, August 21.
There are many other events surrounding BCF Week, check out the schedule below:
Thursday, August 16 – Where’s Chorizo?
Fans have a chance to win a 2012 Team autographed Chorizo from the 2012 “Where’s Chorizo?” event. Sausages will make an appearance to the winner’s home on a mutually agreed upon date. Raffle tickets will be sold at Miller Park and are 2 for $5, 10 for $20 or a wingspan for $50. can you imagine the party you could throw with the Famous Racing Sausages!?

Raffle tickets will be 2 for $5, 10 for $20 or a wingspan for $50.

Players’ wives will be selling autographed items from their husbands. Fans can purchase each mystery bag for a $40 donation to the Brewers Community Foundation which is earmarked for various organizations. The wives will be stationed at each entrance to Miller Park, as well as on the Club Level. Mystery grab bags are always fun and knowing $40 will get you an autographed baseball from a Brewers player and knowing the money is going to a good cause is not a bad deal.
Sunday, August 19 – BCF Treasure Hunt
Fans always love game-used items. Game-used items from past games and seasons will be available for purchase in a special treasure hunt at the Brewers Community Foundation table on the Field Level concourse near Guest Relations behind section 116. Items include bats, baseballs, jerseys and other items of interest. I would recommend getting to Miller Park early that day to make sure you have an opportunity to get the best items. I will try to visit early that day and post some items to Twitter.
Monday, August 20 – Brewers Players Favorite Things Raffle
I have always enjoyed this idea. Not only do you learn what is Randy Wolf’s favorite cereal , what is Mat Gamel’s favorite candy bar or what is John Axford’s go to movie, but you have an opportunity to take these items home with you. Fans have a chance to win a basket full of Brewers players favorite things. The baskets feature a wide variety of items that are favorites of Brewers players and coaches as well as autographed memorabilia. For a $5 donation, fans can play BCF Pinko for the opportunity to win a prize with every drop. Prizes will vary from game tickets to Drive for Charity pins, Brewers merchandise and the always popular mystery bags.
BCF Week is going to be a great opportunity to win some one of a kind Brewers items while at the same time giving back to the Milwaukee community. The best part is that fans can take part for as little as $2. Stay tuned to the blog as we will be posting updates and information to the blog and Twitter. There will be a lot of great activities going on all week.

Well, it was quite the eventful morning here at Miller Park!
If you haven’t heard by now, the fifth Klement’s Famous Racing Sausage, Chorizo, went missing this past Sunday, which first became apparent when he didn’t show up for the Sausage Race during the game.
— Bernie Brewer (@Bernie_Brewer) May 13, 2012
Well, this morning, we finally found out what he was up to! In preparation for Spring Madness, Chorizo had been hard at work. Not only had he gone missing from Miller Park the last two days, but, similar to Bernie’s effort last year, Chorizo spent the hours mapping and planting over 2,000 Chorizo lawn ornaments in the grass areas surrounding Miller Park and its parking lots.
Each lawn ornament was affixed with a pouch that included game tickets for a Spring Madness game, set for May 21 through May 23 at Miller Park. The Brewers will host the San Francisco Giants during Spring Madness, and Brewers fans can save 50% on most all tickets $38 or less. In addition, Klement’s hot dogs and small Pepsi products are just $1 each for all three games.
Plus, there were also three “Grand Prize” ornaments containing the following prizes:
1.) breakfast with Hall-of-Fame pitcher Rollie Fingers
2.) an opportunity for four to watch batting practice from the field with one person tossing a ceremonial first pitch; and
3.) a home visit from the Klement’s Famous Racing Sausages for a tailgate party with supplies provided by Pepsi, Klement’s and Miller
If you weren’t able to make it down to Miller Park this morning, or if you missed out on the lawn ornaments, don’t fret!
First, we are told the Brewers Team Store by Majestic will have a limited quantity in stock. We suggest you call the store at (414- 902-4750) to check availability first.
Second, there will be an online dutch auction at brewers.com, beginning on Thursday, May 17 and ending on Thursday, May 31 at 5 p.m., in which fans can bid on five Chorizo lawn ornaments.
Finally, everyone’s a “wiener” with this special ticket offer!
To celebrate Chorizo being found, we’re offering fans Field Outfield tickets for just $30 or Terrace Reserved tickets for just $10 for the upcoming Friday night or Sunday afternoon Marquee games against the Minnesota Twins (Friday, May 18 or Sunday, May 20). That’s a 50% savings or more off of Marquee prices for this Interleague rivalry! Like the Chorizo, you’ll want to act fast! Visit brewers.com/whereschorizo to purchase!
We hope you had as much fun as we did today! And of course, we hope to see you out at Miller Park for the Twins Series this weekend then Spring Madness, May 21-23!
-John & Cait
Good Morning, Everyone!
Well, I made it through the night and individual game tickets are now officially on sale as of 9am CT this morning. It’s still a party down here at Miller Park as we celebrate Brewers Arctic Tailgate, so if you’re not purchasing by phone at (414) 902-4000 or online at brewers.com, stop down for some fun and excitement!
Here’s the latest slideshow–enjoy!
Just remember, it may be “arctic” here in Milwaukee today, but Spring Training games start a week from tomorrow and Opening Day is just 41 days away!
Pitchers and catchers (and John!) reported to camp in Arizona this weekend, position players are scheduled to report on Friday, and this Saturday, it’s YOUR turn to report to Miller Park for the Brewers Arctic Tailgate as individual tickets go on sale at 9am!
This is the sixth year that the “Arctic Tailgate” party will mark the start of individual ticket sales and over the years, in spite of February usually being a cold, cruel month here, it’s become quite the Milwaukee tradition with some fans camping out days in advance (Note: For rules and guidelines, please see safety regulations below).
The Klement’s Famous Racing Sausages, Bernie Brewer and Brewers alumni players are always on hand to greet the fans and the first 2,000 fans in line receive a hot dog and soda, compliments of Klement’s, Pepsi and Sportservice, as well as an Arctic Tailgate t-shirt.
The hearty crowd, recalling past Opening Days that have been snowed out, or perhaps used to tailgating before Packers games at the Frozen Tundra, is not at all fazed by temperatures in single digits, snow, or swirling winds.
Indeed. Like the USPS quote, “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays” these faithful fans from getting their hands on the hottest tickets before anyone else.
Many fans do it for the tradition and fun—it’s just like your typical pregame tailgate in the middle of July, with games of bags, brats on the grill, and cold beer (okay, maybe a little colder than normal)— but many also do it for the limited number of tickets for Opening Day that will be available at this event.
That’s right. The Miller Park Box Office will be the only place where fans will be able to purchase individual Opening Day tickets on February 25; no phone or online orders will be accepted. Each fan will be limited to a maximum of four tickets for Opening Day, based on availability.
Over the years, when I haven’t been down in Arizona during the event, I’ve been to Arctic Tailgate and I’ve talked with and interviewed fans, but I’ve always been there in the daytime, the day before the event; stopping by briefly the evening before; or working during the event on Saturday morning.
This year, I’ve decided to do something just a bit outside my comfort zone—I’m going to spend the night at Miller Park!
Now there have certainly been many late nights here at the office after games and I’ve camped out on the field before for our Field of Sweet Dreams event, but never in February. To be honest, I’m kind of a wimp when it comes to the cold, but I want to get the true experience that I’m helping promote to fans (plus it’s been the warmest February on record, so I figure now is the best time to do this!).
So, with that being said—if you’re at the event, look for me! I will be roaming around, taking photos, interviewing fans and live blogging from Arctic Tailgate. I might even have some surprises for fans as well!
Of course, if you don’t want to brave the cold, you can always live vicariously through me by following along here online and then get your tickets and parking at brewers.com or by phone at (414) 902-4000 beginning at 9am on Saturday.
The Miller Park Box Office will be open until 5 pm that day. Normal Box Office hours are 9 am – 7 pm Monday – Friday (beginning Monday, February 27), 9 am – 5 pm on Saturday and 11 am – 5 pm on Sunday.
For full details on the Arctic Tailgate event, click here.
Who should I look for on Friday night/Saturday morning?
Please note the following safety regulations for the Arctic Tailgate. Participants will not be permitted to set camp prior to noon on Thursday, February 23. No hand-made or hand-built shelters shall be permitted. No shelters made of cardboard or wood shall be permitted. Shelters with a footprint greater than 100 square feet are not permitted unless otherwise approved by the Brewers. Miller Park power sources are not available for public use and gas generators are not permitted on the property. Only State-Approved gas/propane heating/grilling units with fuel-valve turn-offs and self-contained charcoal/wood units are permitted; provided, however, that they must be a minimum distance of 25 feet from the building or shelters. Activity and items permitted on the premises are subject to the approval of the Brewers. The Brewers reserve the right to remove any shelter, items, or individuals from the property.
