RECAP: #20in15 All-Fan Giveaways Reveal

Did you follow along with our Brewers #20in15 All-Fan Giveaways reveal last week?

AllFans-Recap_Main

In case you missed it, in 2015, we have slated a team-record 20 All-Fan Giveaway dates throughout the season.

There are 10 Sundays when every fan in attendance will receive a bobblehead featuring different Brewers personnel, two Sundays when all fans in attendance will receive Brewers gnomes for the first time ever, seven T-Shirt Friday dates (and you get to help choose the designs!) and one date where you will help determine the giveaway.

“Through surveys and various feedback forums, we know that our ‘All Fan Giveaways’ are one of the most popular added values that we offer at Miller Park,” said Brewers Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger. “With that in mind, we are excited to be presenting a team-record 20 of these dates in 2015, which include not only Bobbleheads and t-shirts, but also the new Gnome items.”

In case you missed it, the #20in15 All-Fan Giveaways lineup is as follows:

Sunday, April 12: Rob Deer Bobblehead

The All Fan Giveaways start with the Rob Deer Bobblehead presented by Toyota on April 12 when the Brewers host the Pittsburgh Pirates at 1:10 p.m. This is the first Bobblehead for the former Brewers great, who spent five seasons with the Club and hit 137 home runs, while racking up 385 RBI.

Sunday, April 26: Wily Peralta Bobblehead

All fans in attendance for the April 26, 1:10 p.m. game against the St. Louis Cardinals will receive a Wily Peralta Bobblehead, presented by U.S. Cellular. The Brewers 2014 Most Valuable Pitcher of the Year, this will be the first-ever Bobblehead of Perralta. Peralta notched career-highs with 17 wins and 154 strikeouts, which also led the team.

Sunday, May 10: Special Mother’s Day BobbleHank

Helping celebrate Mother’s Day, “Hank the Ballpark Pup” will receive his second Bobblehead on May 10, when the Brewers host the Chicago Cubs at 1:10 p.m. Hank will be adorned in pink in honor of the holiday.

Sunday, May 31: Commissioner Allan H. “Bud” Selig Bobblehead

To commemorate his upcoming retirement, Commissioner Bud Selig will be recognized with a Bobblehead on May 31 when Milwaukee takes on the Arizona Diamondbacks at 1:10 p.m.  Earlier this year, the team announced that they will retire uniform number one in 2015, in honor of Selig for his commitment to keep Major League Baseball in Milwaukee.

Sunday, June 14: Carlos Gomez All-Star Bobblehead

On June 14, all fans who attend the 1:10 p.m. game against the Washington Nationals will receive a Carlos Gomez Bobblehead. Gomez will be dressed in his 2014 National League All-Star jersey, celebrating his second consecutive All-Star nod.

Sunday, June 28: Paul Molitor Bobblehead

On June 28, former Brewers great Paul Molitor will have his Bobblehead day. The Hall of Famer played 15 seasons in a Brewers uniform and appeared in over 1,800 games.

Sunday, July 19: Khris Davis Bobblehead

The next month on July 19, outfielder Khris Davis, who belted 22 homers in 2014, will be recognized with a Bobblehead giveaway as the Brewers host the Pirates

Sunday, August 2: Matt Garza Gnome

The Brewers will introduce a new promotion for the 1:10 p.m., August 2 game against the Chicago Cubs as all fans in attendance will receive a Matt Garza Gnome. This will mark the first of two gnomes that will be given away in 2015.

Sunday, August 9: Bob Uecker Bobblehead

To recognize his 60th year in baseball, the Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Uecker will have a Bobblehead day on August 9 when the Brewers host the St. Louis Cardinals at 1:10 p.m. The Bobblehead will be modeled after the statue that was unveiled last year in Uecker’s favorite spot – the last row of Miller Park.

Sunday, August 16: Jonathan Lucroy Doubles Bobblehead

The Brewers will recognize catcher Jonathan Lucroy and his record-breaking season with a Bobblehead on the August 16, 1:10 p.m. game against the Phillies. Lucroy finished the 2014 season with 53 doubles and 46 as a catcher. His 53 doubles matched a Brewers team record, while his 46 as a catcher set a new Major League record.

Sunday, August 30: Retro Vintage Brewer Bobblehead

The Brewers will once again give away a “Vintage Brewers Bobblehead” on August 30 when the team takes on the Cincinnati Reds at 1:10 p.m.  The Bobblehead is a nod to the past as it will be a replica of some of the first items of this kind created nearly 50 years ago. This year’s Vintage Brewer Bobblehead will be donning a Brewers retro jersey.

Sunday, September 20: Scooter Gennett Gnome

Scooter Gennett will join Matt Garza as the second player in 2015 to be honored with a Brewers Gnome giveaway. Gennett has hit for a combined .300 average in his first two seasons with the Brewers.

Sunday, October 4: Fan Vote Item

Finally, fans will decide the “All Fan Giveaway” item to be given away at the Sunday, October 4 (1:10 p.m.) season finale against the Chicago Cubs. An online vote will be conducted later to determine the giveaway.

For the second year in a row, “T-shirt Fridays” will return to Miller Park for 2015. On Friday home games during the months of June, July and August (June 12, June 26, July 17, July 31, August 7, August 14 and August 28), all-fans will receive a Brewers T-shirt. New this season, fans will have the opportunity to choose each of the seven T-shirt designs to be given away this season.

Beginning in January, several different T-shirt designs will be displayed at Brewers.com. Fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite designs, with the top seven winners being selected for “T-shirt Fridays.”  The seven winners will be unveiled at Brewers On Deck on Sunday, January 25.

While individual tickets won’t go on sale until early next year, you can still lock in your favorite giveaways with Season Ticket Packages.

The complete promotional schedule for the 2015 season will be announced at a later date. For more information about All-Fan Giveaways and information on various ticket plans, fans are encouraged to visit Brewers.com/allfans.

Stay tuned for more details on the fan voting for the T-Shirt Fridays and the final All-Fan Giveaway of 2015.

The 2014 #VoteBrewers Campaign is Underway!

Brewers fans have the well-earned reputation for filling the ballot boxes with All-Star votes for their favorite players. With at least one Brewers player elected to start in five of the last seven All-Star Games since 2007, Milwaukee fans demonstrated that it doesn’t take the largest market to be heard as they voted for their hometown Brewers in almost unheard of numbers.

MB-14-Vote-Brewers-600x600-social

And while it may still be April, it’s time to ramp up and Vote Brewers!  This season, eight Milwaukee Brewers players are featured on the ballot for the 85th Major League Baseball All-Star Game to be held on Tuesday, July 15 at Target Field in Minneapolis.  Brewers fans again have the opportunity to show their overwhelming fan support by helping decide which players will be named to the Midsummer Classic through the 2014 MLB In-Stadium All-Star Balloting Program and the 2014 All-Star Game MLB.com Ballot.

Brewers players on this year’s All-Star ballot include C Jonathan Lucroy, 1B Mark Reynolds, 2B Rickie Weeks, 3B Aramis Ramirez, SS Jean Segura, OF Ryan Braun, OF Carlos Gomez and OF Khris Davis.

Fans are now able to vote online at brewers.com and through in-park balloting at Miller Park.

At brewers.com, all fans voting 21 or more times for their favorite Brewers will be entered into a drawing to win a prize package that includes four Field Box tickets to a mutually agreed-upon game, an opportunity to go down Bernie’s slide (restrictions apply), an opportunity to watch batting practice that day from the field and a meet and greet with five-time All-Star Ryan Braun.  There is a maximum of 25 votes per email address.  More information and rules may be found at brewers.com.  Additionally, fans voting online will be eligible to purchase Field Outfield Box and Terrace Box seats for select Brewers games at a savings of up to 50% (details available after fans complete their votes at Brewers.com).

Those visiting Miller Park are encouraged to vote early and often via paper ballot at the All-Star Polling District, set up during Brewers home games along the first base concourse. In-park balloting at Miller Park began today with Bernie Brewer casting the first ballot on the field before the game and continues through Friday, June 15, comprising 23 home dates.

Vote Brewers

The Vote Brewers! campaign features event staff decked out at home games in promotional t-shirts, and signage displayed along the Miller Park fascia and behind the plate. In addition, media partners FOX Sports Wisconsin and Newsradio 620 WTMJ will be promoting the initiative on broadcasts, and the World Famous Klement’s Racing Sausages will help distribute voting information around the city.

With every 10 ballots turned in to the All-Star Polling District, fans will receive one raffle ticket that will enter them in a drawing for the opportunity to win a collector’s item daily, ranging from game-used memorabilia to player autographs. A drawing will be held during every home game through June 15 and the winning ticket will be announced during the game.  Rules will be available at the Polling District.

Both the National League and American League teams will have eight fan-elected starters. The pitchers and reserves for both will be determined through a combination of “Player Ballot” choices and selections made by the two All-Star managers.

Fans can vote for the Major League All-Stars online at brewers.com through Thursday, July 3 at 10:59 p.m. CT.

Vote early, vote often and most importantly, #VOTEBREWERS!

Your 2014 Brewers Walk-Up & Entrance Music

If you were at any of the Exhibition Games this weekend, along with taking in the new changes around the ballpark, you might have found yourself taking in some new music as well, especially as our players walked up to the plate, or our pitchers entered the games.

For players, this is often an important decision. What brief part of a song is going to send a message to the fans—and what do I want that message to be? Do I keep the same song that I had last year? What’s the hit that is going to produce the most hits? Is it a superstitious thing, do I want fans to sing along, or do I just use my favorite song right now?

And, it’s a big deal because sometimes, fans might not remember your exact career batting average or ERA with the team, but they just might remember your at-bat song.

Take these blasts from the past, for instance, which were very distinctive and will probably always stick out–in my mind, at least–as being associated with a certain player at a certain time: Tyler Houston using Baha Men’s “Who Let the Dogs Out” (2001);  Frank Catalanotto and Mark Kotsay using The Outfield’s “Your Love” (2009; 2011—“Josie’s on a vacation far away….”); or Brooks Kieschnick entering the game to George Strait’s “Cowboys Like Us” (2004).

So, if you’re like me and you’re attuned to the tunes, you’ll probably enjoy seeing this list—and updating your iPod playlists accordingly.

DID YOU KNOW? Make sure you download the free MLB At The Ballpark App! In addition to check-in offers, ballpark maps, game updates and more, one of the really cool features is “Ballpark Music.” Like a song you hear? 2013 GIBBYs Nominees Announced; Time to VOTE BREWERS!

The nominees for the 2013 Greatness in Baseball Yearly Awards (GIBBYs) have been announced. Players from both Leagues are featured as nominees in 22 categories recognizing the best in baseball from the regular season through the Postseason; we’ve got nominees in four of these categories, so here’s where you come in!

Voters for the GIBBY Awards fall into five groups, each of which determines 20% of the overall Vote:

1. Fans at MLB.com <—–That’s YOU!

2. Media

3. Front-Office Personnel

4. MLB Alumni

5. The Society for American Baseball Research (SABR)

Millions of fan votes have been cast over the past five years, and this year’s winners will be recognized during an MLB.com extravaganza during  the Baseball Winter Meetings.

Voting ends December 1, 2013. So, over the next couple of weeks, make sure you VOTE BREWERS in the following categories!

  • VOTE Gomez for Defensive Player  .988 FLD PCT, 391 putouts, 12 assists. Gomez displayed a great glove in center field all season, pacing big league outfielders (min: 110 games started) with a 2.78 Range Factor while ranking among the leaders in assists.
  • VOTE Segura for Hitting Performance  6-for-7, 2 R, RBI, May 28 vs. MIN. Jean Segura went 5-for-5 in regulation against the Twins — including a tying RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning — before tacking on another base knock in the 14th to match a franchise mark that had not been touched in 20 years.
  • VOTE Schafer for Walk-Off  Sept. 17 vs. CHC. In one of the most unique ways to earn a walk-off win, Logan Schafer stepped up to the plate as a pinch-hitter and laid down a game-ending suicide squeeze that sent the Brewers onto the field in celebratory fashion
  • VOTE Betancourt for Cut 4 Topic Little is nondescript about Brandon Phillips who, after a sacrifice bunt, initially opted to walk away from first base in lieu of being retired by Yuniesky Betancourt. But when neither man moved, Phillips turned around and jogged back to Betancourt, slapping his glove hand for a hilarious “high-five” putout.

Thanks for your support and GO BREWERS!
