The 4th Annual Drumstick Dash 5K presented by Sendik’s Food Markets is returning to Miller Park on Thursday, November 26, 2015. Registration is open at DrumstickDashMilwaukee.com until Tuesday, November 24. Last minute runners can register at packet distribution at Miller Park from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, and on race morning from 7:00 – 8:15 a.m.. Food and monetary donations will also be accepted at this time. Donors will have the opportunity to win prizes provided by Sendik’s Food Market. The Drumstick Dash 5K will take place on Thanksgiving Day at Miller Park, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Runners and walkers are invited to Miller Park on Thanksgiving for a tradition filled with fun for the whole family. Participants are encouraged to dress up in their best Thanksgiving Day costume, and each registered runner will receive an official long-sleeved Drumstick Dash T-shirt. The Drumstick Dash mascot, “Dash” the turkey, will be in attendance and the top five finishers who out-run “Dash” will win prizes from Performance Running Outfitters.
In the last four years, the Drumstick Dash 5K has donated over 100,000 meals for families in eastern Wisconsin over the holiday season. Just $1 for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin provides three meals for a hungry family. As always, Feeding American Eastern Wisconsin will be collecting food and monetary donations at packet pick-up as well as on race morning.
“We are proud to be partnered with Sendik’s Food Market, the Milwaukee Brewers, Fox6, FM102.1, Performance Running Outfitters and our benefiting partner, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin again for the 4th annual Drumstick Dash, who we have helped raise over 100,000 meals in the previous three years for those facing hunger in Eastern Wisconsin communities,” stated Jeff Graves, president of Vision Event Management. Graves added, “It is really inspiring to see the local community coming together to help their neighbors in need, especially as the holiday season is upon us.”
Registration is open online now. Registration price is $30 for adults and $20 for kids ages 5 to 12. Adult price increases on November 6. Children ages 4 and under are free but must still register. Registration prices increase to $40 for adults and $25 for kids at packet distribution at Miller Park on Wednesday, November 25.
In case you haven’t heard, the second annual Drumstick Dash is coming to Miller Park this Thursday, November 28, at 8:30 AM. The Drumstick Dash 5K presented by Sendik’s Food Market is a 3.1 mile run/walk and will begin and finish at Miller Park. The race is open to all ages and will benefit Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. Nonperishable food donations will be collected race day and monetary donation opportunities will be available prior to the event.
On race day, volunteers and staff will be donned in turkey hats and there will be inflatable turkeys onsite, plus festive cutouts for photo opportunities. Participants are also encouraged to dress up in their best Thanksgiving Day costume.
“Thanksgiving Day is the single largest running day in the country and the Milwaukee community is coming together for a continued Milwaukee family tradition,” said Vision Event Management President, Jeff Graves.”
Online registration for the 2nd Annual Drumstick Dash 5K presented by Sendik’s Food Markets is still open through today at 11:59 p.m. at DrumstickDashMilwaukee.com.
Onsite registration will be available from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday and race morning from 7:00 – 8:15 a.m. at Miller Park. Food and monetary donations will also be accepted at this time. For each $1 or nonperishable food item donated on site, participants will receive a raffle ticket for prizes provided by Sendik’s.
