Participants who bought into the Brewers “Chance 2 Advance Ticket Plan Presented by Potawatomi” may want to try their hand at the Wisconsin Lottery soon as their luck could not be any better.

The Chance 2 Advance allows fans the opportunity to upgrade their seats to the next highest ticket category every time the Brewers win on select dates. And with last night’s win over the Dodgers, the Brewers are a perfect 3-0, meaning that participating fans have three upgrades early in the program.

“Fans who purchased the plan have moved their seats from Bernie’s Terrace to the Loge Outfield Box after just three games, and there are five more potential upgrades if the Brewers keep winning on the designated dates,” said Brewers Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger. “The available seats for this program sold out quickly, and these fans could find themselves sitting in some of Miller Park’s best seats soon.”

The next game of the promotion is on Tuesday, May 28 against the Twins.  Fans who purchased tickets to this promotion will be seated in the Loge Outfield Box.  Details of the promotion include the following:

Fans purchased a ticket in the Bernie’s Terrace section for nine Tuesday home games at Miller Park (game dates are listed below).  Beginning on Tuesday, April 30, fans sat in Bernie’s Terrace.  When the Brewers won, fans were eligible for an upgrade to a Terrace Reserved seat for the May 7 game against the Texas Rangers by paying a $2 processing fee. With another win in that game, they were upgraded to Terrace Box tickets.

If the Brewers win the first eight games in the plan, ticket plan holders will have the opportunity to sit in the Field Diamond Box section for the final game of the promotion on Tuesday, September 3 against Pittsburgh.  If the Brewers lose a game in the plan, fans can simply exchange that day’s game ticket at no cost for a seat in the same section where they last advanced – no backsliding.

Ticket upgrades must be done in person at the Miller Park Ticket Office (between Windows 1-12 located behind home plate) anytime between the conclusion of the previous game and the start of the next game in the ticket plan.  Box Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

“With Milwaukee’s heritage of brewing beer, having an ale made exclusively for the Brewers was a great opportunity to pursue,” said Brewers Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger. “We appreciate the work that Leinie’s and our partners at MillerCoors put into this initiative, and were thrilled with the response of the fans in naming the new beer.”

The newly created beer is an ale, brewed with pale and roasted caramel malts along with cascade, nugget and willamette hops. It will be available exclusively at Miller Park and fans will be able to buy the “New Brew” at locations on the Field Level behind sections 103, 118 and 125; on the Loge Level behind home plate and sections 206 and 213; and on the Terrace Level outside sections 413, 420 and 432.

“A great beer deserves a great name, so we’re thankful for the teamwork from the Brewers and fans,” said Jake Leinenkugel, President of Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Co. “We’re sure fans will have many opportunities to raise a glass of Bernie’s Barrelman Ale to toast the Brewers’ success.”

The Brewers Beyond the Diamond program continued today with “S.C.O.R.E. for Excellence Day presented by The Gordon Flesch Company.”    Beyond the Diamond is a series of community outreach events that will take place throughout the season from May through August.  The program is built around a partnership with Brewers Community Foundation, which features Brewers players, coaches, wives, alumni and team staff working hands-on in the community.

Yovani Gallardo, Carlos Gomez, Alfredo Figaro and Wily Peralta visited  the over 600 energetic children at Vieau School to emphasize the importance of education.  S.C.O.R.E. is an acronym for School, Community, Opportunities, Role Models and Excellence with an emphasis toward education, interaction and life skills. During the program, players engaged students in a dialogue about the importance of these five S.C.O.R.E. elements. The program helps open communication between the students and their role models. T-shirts and game tickets will be provided, along with a $2,500 donation from Brewers Community Foundation toward academic programs.

Vieau is a bilingual school and the program for the kids was done mostly in Spanish.  The event was emceed by the Spanish play-by-play announcer for the Brewers, Andy Olivares of ESPN Deportes Milwaukee.  Figaro spoke of the importance of school while growing up in the Dominican Republic, Peralta talked about community, Gomez spoke about taking advantage of opportunities given to the youngsters and Gallardo talked about the role models in his life–his parents and teachers–and compared them to the role models in the lives of students.

Also participating in today’s event was Kurt Konicke of the Gordon Flesch Company, Vieau principal Eduardo Galvan and Dr. Gregory Thornton, Superintendent of Milwaukee Public Schools.  Special thanks go to Katina Shaw and Cecelia Gore for helping play today’s event and to Scott Paulus for the great photos.

The first event in the “Beyond the Diamond” initiative for the Brewers was a Habitat for Humanity build earlier this month.

For awhile there with the rainy weather we had been having last week, it looked like the roof was going to be closed when the “No Shoes Nation” Tour made it to Miller Park, but, it seems, wherever Kenny Chesney goes, summertime–and a party–come along for the ride.

Yes, by the time the lots opened on Saturday, the clouds had dissipated and the sun was out in full force, just in time for fans to bust out their flip flops, shorts, jean skirts and sundresses and head out to tailgate at Miller Park.

Fortunately for me, my work on the show was done up front in helping to promote last winter, so last night, I was able to partake in the festivities.

I met up with a large group of friends, family and co-workers in the Molitor Lot and we quickly set up tables full of delicious food and drinks and a game of bags. It was pretty much the same atmosphere as a Brewers game, with the grills fired up, music blasting and people mingling and having fun.

Then, when it came time for the show, we made our way inside. I was anxious to see our seats; however, from earlier this week I knew that with the way the stage was configured, there wouldn’t be a bad seat in the house. We had seats on the field, just to stage left. Here was my view, looking back earlier in the evening:

Kacey Musgraves started around 5pm and was followed by Eli Young Band, Eric Church, and then Kenny Chesney. I was too busy singing and dancing along to keep track of the setlists, but Piet Levy from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, has a very good all-encompassing review this morning. (There’s also a handy-dandy Spotify playlist of Kenny’s setlist.)

To bring it back to baseball for a second–One of my favorite moments was when someone in our section announced that the Brewers had beaten the Cardinals 6-4. There were cheers and high fives all around, the perfect excuse (as if we needed any to begin with) to keep on partying.

Yes indeed, it was a terrific night. Each artist played all my personal favorites and, when it looked like the show was ending, I said, “Wait, it’s not over! Kenny hasn’t played ‘She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy’ yet!” and sure enough, a moment later, he was back out on stage to close it out with a rockin’ rendition of the song.

To paraphrase a Kenny Chesney song, I think all fans went home happy with what they got as the “No Shoes Nation” Tour certainly left me wanting nothing more.
