Today, as part of the Brewers Beyond the Diamond community outreach initiative, we hosted a Milwaukee Habitat garage build at Miller Park.
Ryan Braun, Chase Anderson, Alex Presley and Michael Blazek joined some of the Brewers Wives and staff members to frame the garage that will accompany the Habitat home that Braun and Brewers Community Foundation are sponsoring on North 39th street. The garage will be framed in the parking lot near Helfaer field and will be on display for tonight’s game against the New York Mets. The framed walls will then be transported to the Washington Park neighborhood, on Milwaukee’s near west side, where they will be erected at the home.
Braun and Brewers Community Foundation are sponsoring one of 10 new construction homes Milwaukee Habitat will begin work on in 2016. The Brewers have been involved with Milwaukee Habitat since 2006. In addition to new construction, Milwaukee Habitat will be rehabbing 12 homes and completing 60 repair projects throughout the year; all part of their neighborhood revitalization strategy in the Washington Park neighborhood.
Did you follow along with our Brewers #20in15 All-Fan Giveaways reveal last week?
In case you missed it, in 2015, we have slated a team-record 20 All-Fan Giveaway dates throughout the season.
There are 10 Sundays when every fan in attendance will receive a bobblehead featuring different Brewers personnel, two Sundays when all fans in attendance will receive Brewers gnomes for the first time ever, seven T-Shirt Friday dates (and you get to help choose the designs!) and one date where you will help determine the giveaway.
“Through surveys and various feedback forums, we know that our ‘All Fan Giveaways’ are one of the most popular added values that we offer at Miller Park,” said Brewers Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger. “With that in mind, we are excited to be presenting a team-record 20 of these dates in 2015, which include not only Bobbleheads and t-shirts, but also the new Gnome items.”
In case you missed it, the #20in15 All-Fan Giveaways lineup is as follows:
The All Fan Giveaways start with the Rob Deer Bobblehead presented by Toyota on April 12 when the Brewers host the Pittsburgh Pirates at 1:10 p.m. This is the first Bobblehead for the former Brewers great, who spent five seasons with the Club and hit 137 home runs, while racking up 385 RBI.
All fans in attendance for the April 26, 1:10 p.m. game against the St. Louis Cardinals will receive a Wily Peralta Bobblehead, presented by U.S. Cellular. The Brewers 2014 Most Valuable Pitcher of the Year, this will be the first-ever Bobblehead of Perralta. Peralta notched career-highs with 17 wins and 154 strikeouts, which also led the team.
Helping celebrate Mother’s Day, “Hank the Ballpark Pup” will receive his second Bobblehead on May 10, when the Brewers host the Chicago Cubs at 1:10 p.m. Hank will be adorned in pink in honor of the holiday.
To commemorate his upcoming retirement, Commissioner Bud Selig will be recognized with a Bobblehead on May 31 when Milwaukee takes on the Arizona Diamondbacks at 1:10 p.m. Earlier this year, the team announced that they will retire uniform number one in 2015, in honor of Selig for his commitment to keep Major League Baseball in Milwaukee.
On June 14, all fans who attend the 1:10 p.m. game against the Washington Nationals will receive a Carlos Gomez Bobblehead. Gomez will be dressed in his 2014 National League All-Star jersey, celebrating his second consecutive All-Star nod.
On June 28, former Brewers great Paul Molitor will have his Bobblehead day. The Hall of Famer played 15 seasons in a Brewers uniform and appeared in over 1,800 games.
The next month on July 19, outfielder Khris Davis, who belted 22 homers in 2014, will be recognized with a Bobblehead giveaway as the Brewers host the Pirates
The Brewers will introduce a new promotion for the 1:10 p.m., August 2 game against the Chicago Cubs as all fans in attendance will receive a Matt Garza Gnome. This will mark the first of two gnomes that will be given away in 2015.
To recognize his 60th year in baseball, the Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Uecker will have a Bobblehead day on August 9 when the Brewers host the St. Louis Cardinals at 1:10 p.m. The Bobblehead will be modeled after the statue that was unveiled last year in Uecker’s favorite spot – the last row of Miller Park.
The Brewers will recognize catcher Jonathan Lucroy and his record-breaking season with a Bobblehead on the August 16, 1:10 p.m. game against the Phillies. Lucroy finished the 2014 season with 53 doubles and 46 as a catcher. His 53 doubles matched a Brewers team record, while his 46 as a catcher set a new Major League record.
The Brewers will once again give away a “Vintage Brewers Bobblehead” on August 30 when the team takes on the Cincinnati Reds at 1:10 p.m. The Bobblehead is a nod to the past as it will be a replica of some of the first items of this kind created nearly 50 years ago. This year’s Vintage Brewer Bobblehead will be donning a Brewers retro jersey.
Scooter Gennett will join Matt Garza as the second player in 2015 to be honored with a Brewers Gnome giveaway. Gennett has hit for a combined .300 average in his first two seasons with the Brewers.
Finally, fans will decide the “All Fan Giveaway” item to be given away at the Sunday, October 4 (1:10 p.m.) season finale against the Chicago Cubs. An online vote will be conducted later to determine the giveaway.
For the second year in a row, “T-shirt Fridays” will return to Miller Park for 2015. On Friday home games during the months of June, July and August (June 12, June 26, July 17, July 31, August 7, August 14 and August 28), all-fans will receive a Brewers T-shirt. New this season, fans will have the opportunity to choose each of the seven T-shirt designs to be given away this season.
Beginning in January, several different T-shirt designs will be displayed at Brewers.com. Fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite designs, with the top seven winners being selected for “T-shirt Fridays.” The seven winners will be unveiled at Brewers On Deck on Sunday, January 25.
While individual tickets won’t go on sale until early next year, you can still lock in your favorite giveaways with Season Ticket Packages.
The complete promotional schedule for the 2015 season will be announced at a later date. For more information about All-Fan Giveaways and information on various ticket plans, fans are encouraged to visit Brewers.com/allfans.
Stay tuned for more details on the fan voting for the T-Shirt Fridays and the final All-Fan Giveaway of 2015.
With just over 24 hours left in the 2014 All-Star voting period and many tight races throughout the league, many teams and fans are ramping up for the final push.
Recently some folks in the office came across this video, created by Cardinals fans, positioned as a rebuttal to the Jonathan Lucroy “political ad” released last month and I had to share it with you here:
I’ve got to hand it to them. It’s quite clever and well done…but I also hope it re-“energizes and motivates” Brewers fans in the final hours of the race to help #LockInLuc and all of your other favorite Brewers for this year’s team.
And, in all seriousness, it’s truly been great to see fans and teams really get into the races this year, taking such great pride in their teams, players and hometowns–all in good fun, of course.
So, if you haven’t already, go out there and do your part! Fans can vote for the Major League All-Stars online at Brewers.com through Thursday, July 3 at 10:59pm CT.
And, as a heads up for you loyal blog readers, you’ll want to be sure and follow @Brewers closely on Twitter tomorrow…we’ll be ramping up the final hours of the vote with #ThrowbackThursday photos and giveaways galore!
Then, on Sunday, tune in to the “Taco Bell™All-Star Selection Show” on ESPN at 6 p.m. CT, where the 2014 American League and National League All-Star teams will be unveiled. Immediately following the announcement of the AL and NL All-Star rosters, fans will begin voting to select the final player for each League’s 34-man roster via the 2014 All-Star Game MLB.com Final Vote Sponsored by Experian. Fans will cast their votes from a list of five players from each League over the balloting period.
On April 8, 1974, 40 years ago today, as a member of the Atlanta Braves, Henry “Hammerin’ Hank” Aaron, considered by many to be the greatest baseball player ever, hit his historic 715th home run off of Dodgers veteran Al Downing at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium, a home run that broke Babe Ruth’s all-time record.
Aaron retired as all-time Home Run King with 755 career round-trippers, the last of which he hit on July 20, 1976, while playing for the Milwaukee Brewers at County Stadium. For over 30 years, that home run has represented one of the most historic moments in Milwaukee Brewers history and all of Major League Baseball and there is a plaque situated in Brewers Lot 1, a preferred parking area located east of Helfaer Field, marking the landing spot of that final moon shot.
Did you follow along with our #Brewers14in14 All-Fan Giveaways Reveal this week?
In case you missed it, in 2014, we have slated 14 All-Fan Giveaway dates throughout the season.
There are eight Sundays when every fan in attendance will receive a bobblehead featuring different Brewers personnel. The bobbles feature current players, alumni, mascots, etc.—and we revealed them here and across all of our social media platform over the past past week.
In addition to our ever-popular bobblehead games, we’ve also unveiled a new promotion for 2014: T-Shirt Fridays–six Fridays when every fan in attendance will receive a Brewers t-shirt with various designs.
In case you missed it, the 2014 bobblehead lineup is as follows:
The T-Shirt Friday dates are as follows:
Friday, August 22: T-Shirt #6

In 1963, as a member of the Milwaukee Braves, Hank became the first MLB player to hit over 40 home runs and steal 30 bases in a single season. He finished that year with 44 home runs and 31 stolen bases.
Earlier this season, we celebrated Ryan Braun’s 40-30 season with a bobblehead and this Sunday, we’ll be featuring Hank in a Milwaukee Braves uniform for his own special 40-30 bobblehead and you’ll want to be in attendance when the Crew takes on the New York Mets to score yours.
You’ll notice that the back of the jersey on the bobblehead reads “H. Aaron.” That’s because Hank’s younger brother, the late Tommie Aaron, a first baseman and left fielder, also played for the Milwaukee Braves at the time (1962-1963; 1965). [In addition, Tommie played with Hank for the Atlanta Braves (1968-1971). Fun Fact: Tommie hit a total of just 13 Major League home runs during his career, but when combined with Hank’s 755, Tommie and Hank still hold the Major League record for the most career home runs between two brothers.]
For those keeping score at home, this will be the third Hank Aaron bobblehead that we’ve given away at Miller Park. The first was in 2002 and then in 2010, we celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Brewers Baseball with bobbleheads from various decades and Hank was our honoree from the 1970s. Don’t miss out on the chance to add this one to your collection!

In case you missed it, in 2013, we have slated 10 All-Fan Giveaway dates on Sundays throughout the season where every fan in attendance will receive a bobblehead featuring different Brewers personnel. The bobbles feature current players, alumni, mascots, etc.—and we revealed them here and across all of our social media platform over the past two weeks.
In case you missed it, the 2013 bobblehead lineup is as follows:
While individual tickets won’t go on sale until February, you can still lock in your favorite bobbles with Season Ticket Packages (the 20-Game Sunday Plus Plan includes ’em all!), or you can gift them–many of our Brewers Holiday 4-Packs include at least one bobblehead date!
Enjoy your weekend!

And last, but certainly not least….. our tenth and final bobblehead of the 2013 season will be a Ben Oglivie bobblehead on Sunday, September 15 as the Crew takes on the Cincinnati Reds at Miller Park.
Ben Oglivie was a Brewers outfielder from 1978-1986. Like Gorman Thomas (who was also announced as a 2013 bobblehead yesterday), Ben was a member of the 1982 AL Championship team under Manager Harvey Kuenn (another 2013 bobblemate!) and one of Harvey’s Wallbangers.
This is the first full-size Brewers bobblehead of the three-time Brewers All-Star (1980, 1981 & 1982) that we’ve given out at Miller Park.
Individual tickets go on sale in February, but you can secure yours early! The Ben Oglivie bobblehead is included in the following ticket packages:
4-Pack Double Bobble Plan [Holiday 4-Packs go on sale on Tuesday, November 13! Call (414) 902-HITS (4487) for details!]
And…that’s a wrap! Stay tuned to the blog for more updates—including photos of the bobbleheads–as we get them!
6/13/13 Update: The Oglivie Bobble design is in! What do you think?

Yesterday, we announced Harvey Kuenn as one of the 2013 bobbleheads and today, we’re pleased to announce our ninth bobblehead of 2013, one of Harvey’s Wallbangers…. GORMAN THOMAS!
Yes, you’ll want to make sure to get your tickets to the Sunday, September 1, Brewers vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim as all fans in attendance will receive a bobblehead of “Stormin’ Gorman” himself.
Gorman was the first player selected by the Seattle Pilots in the June 1969 draft and as such, he’ll be featured in a Seattle Pilots uniform.
During his career, the former outfielder played with Milwaukee Brewers (1973–76, 1978–83, 1986), Cleveland Indians (1983) and Seattle Mariners (1984–86).
From 1978-1983, Gorman hit more home runs than any other player in the American League.
This is the second full-size Gorman Thomas Bobblehead given away at Miller Park (the first was in 2004).
Individual tickets will go on sale in February, but you can secure your tickets early as the Gorman Thomas bobblehead is included in the following ticket packages:
4-Pack Interleague Plus Plan [Holiday 4-Packs go on sale on Tuesday, November 13! Call (414) 902-HITS (4487) for details!]
