RBI Athlete of the Month: Savier Pinales
Reviving Baseball in the Inner Cities, or the RBI Program, is a MLB youth baseball initiative and partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs. The RBI program was developed by former scout and Major Leaguer John Young in Los Angeles in 1989 to provide youth ages 9 to 17 the opportunity to learn and enjoy the game of baseball. Each month, we honor RBI student athletes on the diamond that portray dedication to academics, community involvement, leadership, reliability and monthly performance.
This month’s honorees is Savier Pinales, a junior at Riverside University High School. He plays for the RBI 18U travel team as the shortstop. Savier is a great teacher of the kids in the RBI program. He spends a huge amount of time doing community service and has garnered interest from multiple colleges including North Carolina Central.
Congratulations Savier! Keep up the hard work!
