RBI Athlete of the Month: Keaton Rock
Reviving Baseball in the Inner Cities, or the RBI Program, is a MLB youth baseball initiative and partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs. The RBI program was developed by former scout and Major Leaguer John Young in Los Angeles in 1989 to provide youth ages 9 to 17 the opportunity to learn and enjoy the game of baseball. Each month, we honor RBI student athletes on the diamond that portray dedication to academics, community involvement, leadership, reliability and monthly performance.
This month’s honoree is Keaton Rock. Keaton is a junior at St. Francis High School and has been an RBI participant with the Hillside Boys & Girls Club for the past 7 years. Keaton is a very skilled pitcher and a good first baseman. Keaton pitched a 6-0 no hitter against the Twins RBI during the Championship game last week. With Keaton’s stellar pitching helped advance his team, for the first time, to the World Series game in Cincinnati next month. When Keaton is not playing baseball, he dedicates his time to mentor and train the RBI youth players.
Congratulations, Keaton, keep up the great work!
