RBI Athlete of the Month: Antonio Valadez
Reviving Baseball in the Inner Cities, or the RBI Program, is a MLB youth baseball initiative and partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs. The RBI program was developed by former scout and Major Leaguer John Young in Los Angeles in 1989 to provide youth ages 9 to 17 the opportunity to learn and enjoy the game of baseball. Each month, we honor RBI student athletes on the diamond that portray dedication to academics, community involvement, leadership, reliability and monthly performance.
This month’s honoree is Antonio Valadez. Valadez is a junior at Riverside University High School and is a great student with a 3.2 GPA. He’s been playing with the RBI Traveling team for the last 3 years. Antonio is a very skilled pitcher with pinpoint accuracy and he’s also a very good base runner. When he’s not playing baseball, Valadez is mentoring other young men in the RBI program.
Congratulations, Antonio, keep up the great work!
