This month’s honoree is E.B. Garner who holds an annual fishing clinic in Washington Park. E.B. hosted his 18th event, which brought over 200 participants. The clinic is held on Wisconsin’s ‘Free Fun’ weekend so that all anglers have the opportunity to fish without being inhibited by cost.
Garner is head of the Fishing Club of Milwaukee and partners with the Urban Ecology Center to hold fishing outings. Garner’s connection to Washington Park runs deep since he worked there as a County Parks employee. Fishing is a skill he learned as a kid and he’s been passing that skill on to neighborhood kids for the past 19 years.
As a winner of the award, E.B. received four game tickets to tonight’s game, on-field acknowledgement and the opportunity to throw out a ceremonial first pitch prior to the game, along with a Brewers Community Achiever certificate and a gift bag filled with Brewers memorabilia.
Thank you, E.B. for making a difference in the community!
