Kenny Chesney to Return to Miller Park on Saturday, June 18
This morning, we announced that Miller Park has been named as a stop on Kenny Chesney’s “Spread the Love” 2016 Tour, which will rock Miller Park on Saturday, June 18. This is the second time that the country music star will headline at the home of the Brewers, as he entertained fans at the stadium during his “No Shoes Nation” tour in 2013. Chesney also visited Miller Park in 2010 as part of Farm Aid’s “25th Anniversary Tour.”The concert will feature other top country stars including Miranda Lambert, Old Dominion and a third artist to be announced later (the third artist will perform between Lambert and Old Dominion).
The Knoxville, Tennessee-born country star has recorded numerous studio albums, including 11 that have been certified platinum. He has produced countless chart-topping singles such as “Anything But Mine,” “How Forever Feels,” “Live A Little,” “When The Sun Goes Down,” “Somewhere With You,” and “Never Wanted Nothing More.” Chesney was honored by the industry when he received the Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year Award four times (2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008) and is once again up for the prestigious award which will be announced during the Country Music Association Awards on November 4. Last year, Chesney released his 16th studio album, The Big Revival. The album, which debuted at #1 on Billboard Country Airplay chart, includes smash hits “American Kids,” “Till It’s Gone” and “Wild Child.”
“Kenny Chesney is one of the industry’s most popular artists, and we’re excited that he will be returning to Miller Park again after his sold-out show here in 2013,” said Milwaukee Brewers Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger. “With a number of major concerts in recent years, Miller Park is now a destination for music’s top touring artists, and fans love seeing shows in this world-class venue. We know this will be an exciting evening with a legendary entertainer and one of the most anticipated concerts of the summer.”
“People always want to know about the stadiums because it’s a big show… a lot of music… and the kind of day people come together and celebrate friendship,” said Chesney. “We know a lot of people travel to these dates from all over, so to give them as much time as possible to get ready, I figured it’d be nice to get these out in front of our other shows!”
Lambert, the five-time reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, is one of five nominees for Entertainer of the Year – along with Chesney – at this year’s Country Music Association Awards. Earlier this year, Lambert was named Top Female Vocalist of the Year by the Academy of Country Music Awards for the sixth consecutive year (2010-15). The country music star and singer/songwriter earned Best Female Country Vocal Performance honors for her single “The House That Built Me” at the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards and won Best Country Album for Platinum at the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards this year.
Old Dominion is a five-member band which consists of Matthew Ramsey (lead singer), Trevor Rosen (acoustic guitar, keyboards), Whit Sellers (drums), Geoff Sprung (bass guitar) and Brad Tursi (lead guitar). Their debut single, “Break Up With Him,” reached the Top 10 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
Miller Park has played host to multiple concerts, including George Strait’s Country Music Festival (2001), N’Sync (2001), Bruce Springsteen (2003), Randy Travis (2004), Bon Jovi (2005), Kid Rock/Sugarland (2008), Farm Aid’s 25th Anniversary Concert (2010), Paul McCartney (2013), Kenny Chesney (2013) and One Direction (2015).
