Lucroy Recognized as Bob Feller Act of Valor Award Finalist

Tonight, prior to the Brewers vs. Pirates game, Jonathan Lucroy was recognized on the field as one of 15 finalists across Major League Baseball for the 2015 Bob Feller Act of Valor Award, an award named after the Hall of Fame pitcher who was the first Major League Baseball player to enlist in the United States Navy after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Jonathan is recognized for his efforts in support of our servicemen and women. He’s been a consistent supporter of military initiatives, primarily Fisher House Wisconsin, a facility for military veterans and their families receiving treatment at the Milwaukee VA hospital. Jonathan invites wounded heroes to games each month and meets with them prior to first pitch. He also regularly visits veterans’ hospitals in Milwaukee, his hometown in Louisiana, and when the team is on the road.

During the offseason, Jonathan joined the Honor flight, traveling to Washington, D.C. with 41 World War II and 47 Korean War Veterans, and for each of the past three years, he has contributed $5,000 scholarships to military families.
