Brewers Support Salvation Army’s Feed the Kids Summer Meals Program
As part of the Brewers ongoing efforts in the Milwaukee community, the team is proud to help support The Salvation Army’s Feed the Kids Summer Meals Program. This afternoon, Brewers players, staff and Brewers Wives were on hand to help prepare meals at Red Arrow Park for underprivileged kids within the Milwaukee area.
Together with representatives from Mayor Tom Barrett’s office and other community leaders, several Brewers players Jean Segura, Wily Peralta and first base coach Mike Guerrero, along with Brewers Wives, joined The Salvation Army leadership & advisory board in preparing nearly 1,800 lunches.
Feed the Kids Summer Meals Program is a summer youth program designed to help meet the needs of area children. The Salvation Army along with the Brewers will prepare lunches that will be delivered to neighborhoods, parks and street corners in Milwaukee’s underserved areas. The objective of the program is to serve hungry children a nutritious meal during the summer months.
