BREWERS LAUNCH “STRIKE OUT BULLYING” CONTEST

This season, we are launching the Strike Out Bullying essay contest. Students from across the greater Milwaukee area will be asked to submit a one-page essay about what their school is doing to “Strike Out Bullying.”  The winning entry will receive a grand prize which includes a visit from Brewers players as well as tickets and transportation to a game.

The essay is an open ended question, “What is your school doing to strike out bullying?”  Students should include various examples and methods on how their school is helping to stop and prevent bullying.

Each essay should be no longer than 350 words and students from all public and private elementary, middle and high schools in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Washington and Waukesha Counties are eligible to participate.  The winning essay will be selected by a panel of judges assembled by the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club.

On Monday, May 11, 2015, the winning participant’s school will be awarded a visit from Brewers players and other Brewers personnel, along with Brewers apparel, game tickets for that day and transportation to and from Miller Park. In addition, the student with the winning essay will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at that night’s game.

All entries must be postmarked by April 12, 2015 to be eligible for inclusion and only one entry per student will be accepted. The author of the winning essay will be notified prior to May 11.

Essays should be mailed to:

Hi I am 8 years old. If someone bullying me I would tell my teacher. My friend got picked on and she told her mom. Her mom went up to school and went right to her teacher. Last year a kid picked on me and said he will kill me and my family. But I was to scared to do anything cause I was only 7 years old. But my mom went up to school and she was not happy. Why do kids do this kind of stuff? There is always this kind of stuff on t.v every day. I wish it would stop. And these kids that are bad should be locked up. Please pick me.

Hi Christopher,

You need to enter via the explanation in the post; unfortunately, entries as comments to this blog do not count.

Thanks,
