“HANK, THE BALLPARK PUP” CHILDREN’S BOOK DEBUTS AT BREWERS TEAM STORE
On the heels of our Wisconsin Humane Society Day and BobbleHank Giveaway, a new children’s book was released today, recapping the adventures of Hank, baseball’s most celebrated canine.
“Hank, The Ballpark Pup,” written by Karen Winnick, went on sale on this afternoon with a special kick-off event. Ms. Winnick and Hank appeared at the Team Store where the first 75 people in line received a free copy of the book, as well as an opportunity to have their book signed by the author and a photo taken with Hank.
The 40-page, hard-cover book was designed and illustrated by 2-Story Creative and retails in the Brewers Team Store by Majestic for $19.95.
For all Hank-themed items sold by the Brewers, including the new book, 20% of the retail price will be donated to the “Hank Fund.” To date, more than $130,000 has been raised for the fund through Hank merchandise sales.
Ms. Winnick is the author and illustrator of numerous books, including “Mr. Lincoln’s Whiskers,” “Barn Sneeze,” and “Gemina, The Crooked-Neck Giraffe.” Her love of animals extends to her role as a Los Angeles Zoo Commissioner, and her poems have been published in magazines and anthologies.
