Happy Father’s Day from Miller Park!
Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads out there!
Before I share some of the scenes at the park today, I want to wish my own dad, who is celebrating at the game today, a very Happy Father’s Day. I love you dad, I wouldn’t be where I am today without your love and support!
A few members of the Crew have special messages, too:
And, today at Miller Park, we’re celebrating with blue wristbands as part of MLB’s “Keep Dad in the Game” program, which was developed as part of the League’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness for various forms of cancer. Today is devoted to celebrating fathers and increasing awareness of Prostate Cancer.
Major League Baseball has once again teamed up with the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) and Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) to promote Prostate Cancer awareness and raise funds to be donated toward research aimed at battling the disease. This year also marks the 19th annual Home Run Challenge, through which fans can make a monetary pledge for each home run hit during all scheduled MLB games from Monday, June 9 through Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15.The program has raised more than $45 million since its inception.
Finally, today, fans are encouraged to express their gratitude by sharing their favorite baseball memories of dad on social media using #MLBThanksDad. Photos shared on Instagram will be curated on MLB.com/FathersDay with links to the PCF website and father-son baseball highlights.
Happy Father’s Day.
