Pet Adoption Day a Success

Yesterday was Pet Adoption Day at Maryvale Baseball Park  an event benefiting and organized by the Arizona Humane Society and our very own #BallparkPup, Hank and it was a success, raising awareness and dollars for a great cause.

Although Hank made many guest appearances, he was not up for adoption. Four of his friends on site, and thousands more at shelters in Arizona, Wisconsin and elsewhere, were available (and, so far at least two of the dogs on site have found new homes).

Hank met each of the animals who were brought out by the Arizona Humane Society, and he did a half-inning in a photo boothwhere, for a donation to the Humane Society, Hank posed for fans with photos.

There was also the opportunity for “pawtographs”–when purchasing a Brewers Spring Training Program, Brewers staff will use a rubber paw stamp to “sign” Hank’s photo.

Due to the heat, Hank was only able to accommodate a fraction of the fans who wanted photos, but more than $1,000 in donations have been raised through fan donations as a result of Hank’s photos & pawtographs.

Did you take a photo with Hank at a recent game? Have more great Spring Training photos to share with us? Be sure to tag #CactusCrew on Twitter and/or Instagram for your chance to win great Brewers prizes! Also, we’re using #BallparkPup for Hank-related posts, so you’ll want to tag that as well!
