Polish Heritage Day Set for Sunday, June 23
Next Sunday, June 23, we’ll host Polish Heritage Day at Miller Park for the game vs. the Atlanta Braves and all fans in attendance will receive this Klement’s Famous Racing Sausages Polish Sausage Bobble.
The Polish Sausage is featured wearing a “Piwowarzy” jersey, which is the Polish translation for Brewers. The Brewers will also be wearing the Piwowarzy jerseys when they take the field at 1:10pm.
The Brewers have worn special “Cerveceros” uniforms for “Cerveceros Day” in each of the last eight seasons; wore “Bierbrauer” uniforms for “German Heritage Day” in 2011 and “Birrai” uniforms for “Italian Heritage Day” last year.
As part of Sunday’s festivities, the Syrena Polish Folk Dance Ensemble will perform near the Miller Park gates and polka music will be played by a live band. Jayme Dawicki, 2002 Miss Wisconsin, will sing the national anthem and God Bless America. In addition, there will be an information table from Polish Heritage Alliance located on the Miller Park Field Level Concourse.
Fans can also save 10% on all Polish Sausage Famous Racing Sausages merchandise for the entire homestand (Friday, June 21 through Thursday, June 27) at Miller Park–including t-shirts, lawn gnomes and plush.
Finally, in preparation for Sunday, the Polish Sausage visited Polish Fest over the weekend to learn more about his heritage. Here’s a fun little gallery (click photos to enlarge). Enjoy and we hope to see you out here next weekend to celebrate with us!
