Scarborough Places Brewers Among Top MLB Teams in New Fan Affinity Survey
Market research company Scarborough has released data related to Major League Baseball markets for 2011 and 2012, and results indicate that the Brewers rank second among all Clubs in percentage of local population who are considered to be fans of the local team.
In surveys taken from August of 2011 through July of 2012, 73% of residents in the Milwaukee Designated Market Area (DMATM) were identified as Brewers fans. Scarborough’s definition of a fan is a person who has attended a game, watched on television, or listened on radio in the past 12 months.
“This is another example of how dedicated our fans are to supporting the team,” said Brewers Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger. “With an average yearly attendance approaching three million over the last five years, we see this commitment come to life every game at Miller Park. We will continue to do our best to provide the best experience possible, both for fans who are attending games and for those who are watching or listening at home.”
Two thousand adults (18+) in the Milwaukee DMA were surveyed by Scarborough.
